The classic theme of two of Aesop’s fables is exquisitely depicted encircling the bowl.
The lion and the mouse- a tale of who is the most useful and helpful. We would think the lion! But wait! When the lion is caught in a trap-who will set him free? The lowly rodent? No! The mighty mouse will chew through the rope and set the lion free! Love them all – all creatures great and small, and don’t judge their capacity by looks!
The ox and the frog-a tale of size and importance. The ox is large and therefor toward the top of the food chain. The frog would like to be this large. He puffs himself up so much that he explodes! Trying to be something that you are not can be very counterproductive! Be content with who you are.
